HVLG's Guide to Adaptable Lighting

August 27, 2026

At Hudson Valley Lighting Group, we believe that good lighting goes beyond filling a room; it evolves with it. Adaptable fixtures that pivot, swivel, or rise and fall create interiors that feel comfortable, considered, and effortlessly lived-in. Designed with intention, these adjustable lighting fixtures bring flexibility to everyday living.

Pivoting Flush Mounts
Highlighting art and curated shelving, pivoting flush mounts like the Luxe Pivot by CSL with a 60-degree tilt and 360-degree rotation, and the Simeon by Hudson Valley Lighting with its articulating shade are the perfect finishing touch, bringing a refined architectural presence to any space.

Swiveling Wall Sconces
The long adjustable arm of the Brockville extends and swivels to create perfect task lighting. The Onda wall sconce has the added adjustability of pivoting shades that allow you to direct light where it’s needed most. Being able to swivel the light overhead or direct it away offers effortless flexibility in bedrooms or living rooms.

Rise-and-Fall Pendants
These fixtures adapt to the changing needs of a space with ease, bringing light higher or lower as needed. The adjustable design makes it simple to create the right ambiance, as seen with the Alchemy over a dining table, or to create more focused task lighting, as with the Fontana Pendants over a kitchen island.

Modular Systems
Modular systems like the Suspenders and Yo by Sonneman are designed to evolve alongside the spaces they illuminate. With customizable configurations and adjustable features, these systems make it easy to create a curated lighting solution that responds to your exact needs and vision.
