Junior League of Hartford Showhouse

December 05, 2025

The Junior League of Hartford kicked off summer with the 16th Designer Show House presented by Cottages & Gardens. This signature fundraising event celebrates local design talent while raising funds for charitable projects in the community. As the exclusive lighting partner, Hudson Valley Lighting Group lent an eclectic assortment of lighting to outfit the home, allowing each design collaborator to choose fixtures that aligned with their vision. From gilded glamour in the retro bar to tailored elegance in the living room, the Hartford Showhouse celebrated the best in design.

Averack Wall Sconce | Design: Jeanne Barber @camdengrace_interiordesign Photography: Jane Beiles

The music room by Camden Grace Interior Design hit all the right notes. Reminiscent of the English countryside, the space featured a whimsical banquette, vintage furnishings, and a richly layered gallery wall accented with a woven wall sconce

Savvy Semi-Flush Mount | Design: Martha Gargano @amskitchens Photography: Jane Beiles

Designer Martha Gargano of A Matter of Style Kitchens packed a lot of style in a small space with her charming mudroom design. A hidden gem brimming with style, the back entrance flourished with delicate details like vibrant wallpaper, intricate millwork, and a stunning alcove. A semi-flush mount was the perfect choice for tight quarters. The Savvy ceiling light cast brilliant shadows on the ceiling, the gold leaf finish glistening against the fuschia hue.

Arcata Chandelier, Rian Floor Lamp | Design: Grace Galloway @gracegallowaydesign Photography: Jane Beiles

The sunroom by Grace Galloway felt like a Palm Royale backdrop. Playful pattern play, bold lighting choices, and a vibrant color palette created the perfect setting for an afternoon cocktail or morning meditation. The gesso finish on the Arcata Chandelier felt right at home, highlighting the sweeping arms against the soft green ceiling.

Rian Floor Lamp | Design: Grace Galloway @gracegallowaydesign Photography: Jane Beiles

Repetitive geometric shapes drawn from mid-century motifs create an eye-catching totemic stack in the Rian floor lamp. Each natural wicker bowl is individually lit, allowing a soft diffusion of light through the textural weave.

Classic No.1 Wall Sconce | Design: Kaitlin Smith @kaitlinsmithinteriors Photography: Jane Beiles

The primary bedroom for the Design Show House brought the English country style to life in this early 1900’s Tudor home. The room designed by Katilin Smith feels timeworn, without being shabby.

Classic No.1 Wall Sconce | Design: Kaitlin Smith @kaitlinsmithinteriors Photography: Jane Beiles

Mark D. Sikes Classic No.1 collection for Hudson Valley Lighting was the perfect accoutrement to the sophisticated sitting parlour. Distinctly approachable, the traditional wall sconce is a true design perennial. With delicate curves and a slender profile, this timeless lighting design can complement any aesthetic.

Eastbridge Table Lamp |Design: Kaitlin Smith @kaitlinsmithinteriors Photography: Jane Beiles

Inspired by vintage handwoven baskets, the Eastbridge table lamp is defined by warm textural contrasts and tonal variations. Handwoven from natural abaca, the voluminous lamp base is embellished with a simple striped pattern. The combination of the woven light with the wood nightstand is simply divine!

Blossom Semi-Flush Mount, Bristol Bath + Vanity Light | Design: Ellen Piccolo @thehomemakerdesignco Photography: Jane Beiles

Designer Ellen Piccolo brought this bathroom back to life. Handmade tile, vintage-inspired lighting, and natural stone paid homage to the home’s roots while fresh finishes revitalized the overall look. The Bristol Bath Light marries traditional charm with brilliant function. The aged brass frame and milk glass shade work in harmony to diffuse light in the space.
